Animal Cards

This exercise resembles bingo: the teacher has got a set of cards with pieces of information about different animals. The students have got a card with the name of an animal each. The teacher reads cards one by one and the students say "Mine" if the information fits. For example, if Ann' s animal is a frog she must say "Mine" when the teacher says "This animal is green" and shouldn't say anything if the current information is "It can fly". The first to claim the card gets it. The purpose is to get as much cards as you can. (Some cards are repeated to avoid competition to be too hard.)

After the game, children can read all the cards to their partners in pairs and retell the information read by the partner (cross-retelling).

There are some preliminary exercises and you can also work through the lexics before the game.
